Bound to the Fabricated Cycle

This piece is a work within a series which deals with the topic of fast fashion. Each adobe clay disc is constructed using the individual clothing item that they identify through their fabric composition labels as a binding agent. Even the surface texture of the adobe discs are record of how these clothing items once appeared in their lifetime. In this way, clothing items are memorialized as non-living entities which have endured a brutal life cycle of processing, enclothing, and discarding. When encapsulated by Earth once again as materials which were born from her, they have reached a full revolution in their life cycle.
